More than 40 years of his life have been connected with hockey. His professional hockey career began in Dukla Trenčín in the federal Czechoslovak league, where he played for 7 years and won 2 silver medals. In the early 90s he played in leading European competitions – 4 years in Sweden (Södertälje, Frölunda Göteborg), 2 years in Germany (Kaufberen Adler), 1 year in Finland (Assat Pori) and 1 year in the Czech Republic, where he won the title with Vsetin. He also has successful years in the national teams of Czechoslovakia and Slovakia.

He played for Czechoslovakia OH v Calgary and 2x MS, where he won 2x bronze medals. He played for Slovakia 2x OH in Lillehammeri a Nagane and 3x World Championship. In 1994 he was declared the best hockey player and forward in Slovakia.

After finishing his hockey career, he became GM Dukla Trencin, where they won 1x silver medal and 1x bronze medal. He also served as GM of the Slovak senior national team for 2 years, winning a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics, and later was also GM of Slovan Bratislava for 1 season.

He worked for almost 20 years as a professional scout for NHL teams. Boston Bruins, Los Angeles Kings and New York Rangers, where he drafted players like David Krejčí, Vladimír Sobotka, JT Miller, Filip Chytil, Igor Shestyorkin, Pavel Buchnevich and others.

He has had a rich career in hockey, which includes playing in the highest hockey competitions in the Czech Republic (Karlovy Vary) and Slovakia (Dukla Trenčín, HKM Zvolen, HK Nitra) at the senior level. He also played for HK Riga and the prestigious junior competition QMJHL in the Shawinigan Cataractes team, and was also part of the junior national teams with participation in the U20 World Championship and the senior national team. After finishing his professional career, he continued to play sports as NHL scout for New York Islanders, so his job is to look for young and talented players. In the academy Powerplayers has been acting as an organizer since its beginnings.

Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Comenius University. Bc diploma plus SZĽH license. He worked as a professional player in the second highest hockey competition in Slovakia in Prievidza and the highest competition in Romania in the Progym Gheorgheni team. He has a lot of experience and practice as a coach. Since reaching senior age, he has been dedicated to youth. From the preparatory to the youth as the head coach, mainly in Prievidza and Topoľčany and also 2 years abroad. He worked as a playing coach of seniors for 2 years. He has completed all coaching and educational courses. Coaches at schools, School ambassador of sports activities. Learn to play SZĽH hockey course. On Off educational work with youth how to work with mobile apk. Teacher-coach of sports training at an elementary school in Prievidza. Further education in the hockey organization Bílí Tygri Liberec. Since 2018 he has been working as Head Coach of the Powerplayers Academy. The academy also held camps abroad (Czech Republic, Slovenia).

He is still active as a professional player in the HK Spartak Dubnica team, he also played in the highest hockey competition in Slovakia in Dukla Trenčín, MHC Martin, Banská Bystrica, MsHK Žilina but also in all junior national teams. After the season, he devotes himself to training young players.

He played as a professional player in the second highest hockey competition in Slovakia in Prievidza. He is dedicated to training young players.

Still active as a professional goalkeeper in the HK Púchov team, he also played in the second highest hockey competition in Považská Bystrica and HK Spartak Dubnica. He is dedicated to training young goalkeepers.

PhDr. Michal Kopčan is a certified mental coach, mentor, therapist, author and professional member of the Slovak Association of Coaches.

He further developed his university studies in the field of andragogy (adult education) and educational psychology through personal study of the issue of mental preparation. He completed his university studies by obtaining the title of PhDr. The topic of his rigorous thesis was Mentálny a Emocionálny vývoj v dospelosti.

He is officially certified as a mental coach by the International Mental Coaches Association (IMGCA) based in the USA (San Jose, California) and is also a professional member of this federation.

He is also certified in several areas: Mindfulness Stress Reduction; Rapid Resolution Therapy, Basics of Hypnosis, Narrative Psychotherapy, Oxygen Advantage certification, Breath is life certification, Somatic Experiencing (Basic training), Topic-oriented Interaction: a psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational method. He is currently enrolled in the long-term psychotherapeutic training of PCA.

Michal is part of several successful sports projects such as: Sports connect, Marián Gáborík Hockey School, Football School… etc. In the field of professional sports, he collaborated with HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas, AS Trencin, FC Slovan Liberec. He has long collaborated with the football club ŠK Slovan Bratislava and the Hungarian football team Puskás Akadémia FC. He currently collaborates with the Slovak women's handball team and the Slovak men's indoor football team.

He regularly gives lectures to various sports teams from children to professional athletes, as well as to various companies and multinational corporations. He is the author of books „Myseľ šampióna“ – mentálny sprievodca na ceste za športovým úspechom; "The Model of Clear Mind" – the key to a stress-free life.

Still active as a professional goalkeeper for the Blackfalds Bulldogs team, he also played in other overseas competitions for the Philadelphia Rebels, Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, South Shore Kings. He was part of the U18 and U20 World Cup teams. After the season, he trains young promising goalkeepers.
